چکیده
In this paper we develop and demonstrate a method to estimate the reservoir pressure, a mass productivity index, and a thermal power productivity index for vertical water-fed geothermal wells, from its production characteristic (also called output) curves. In addition, the method allows to estimate the radius of influence of the well, provided that a value of the reservoir transmisivity is available. structure of the present method is: first, the measured wellhead mass flowrate; and pressures are transformed to downhole conditions by means of a numerical simulator; then, the computed downhole variables are fitted to a simple radial model that predicts the sandface flowrate in terms of the flowing pressure. For demonstration, the method was applied to several wells from the Cerro Prieto geothermal field. found very good agreement of the model withthis ample set of field data. of our method are that it provides a way to retrieve important reservoir information from usually available production characteristic curves, that it works from easily and accurately taken wellhead measurements, and that its results address the two main aspects of geothermal resource utilization, namely, mass and heat product ion. The basic

متن کاملThe Analysis of Heat Storage Capacity and the Formation Characteristics of Geothermal Resources in Sedimentary Basins —— A Case Study on Dunhuang Basin
The geothermal resources in sedimentary basin are affected by many factors because the characteristic of geothermal reservoirs is very complex, so the heat storage capacities are hard to calculate. This paper took Dunhuang Basin as an example to analyze the geological structure, stratigraphic structure and the formation mechanism of geothermal water based on the formation characteristics of the...
متن کاملThe Use of Inflow Performance Relationships to Identify Reservoir Response during Production Tests in a Geothermal Well
The behavior of four inflow performance relationships are analyzed and discussed. Two of them are developed for petroleum systems and two others are developed for geothermal fluid containing high and low salinity respectively. A methodology to determine the maximum flow rate (Wmax) that a well can produce for a specific stage of its productive life, using these inflow relationships is presented...
متن کاملAn Investigation of the Dixie Valley Geothermal Field, Nevada, Using Temporal Moment Analysis of Tracer Tests
The method of analysis of the first temporal moment (mean residence time) of tracer return data was utilized to investigate the swept volume and fluid velocity between pairs of injection and production wells in the Dixie Valley geothermal field. Calculations were made using a spreadsheet program available from the Idaho National Laboratory. Jointly sponsored industry–government research at the ...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of a Tracer Test at Dixie Valley, Nevada
A tracer test was conducted at the Dixie Valley, Nevada, geothermal reservoir using fluorescein. Four of 9 production wells showed fluorescein breakthrough during the first 200 days of the test. Reconstructed fluorescein return curves are presented that correct for the thermal decay of the tracer assuming an average reservoir temperature of 227°C. In order to examine the feasibility of using nu...
